Lacuna explained

Regular readers of this blog (all seven of them) may have noticed that nothing new has appeared since the end of May. That's because I've been overseas and I'm too lazy and/or technologically illiterate, when away from my PC, to post my newspaper columns as they are published. I'm now home again, which explains the belated appearance (below) of my recent efforts.

No, I read your blog. I'm sure there are at least eight of us, therefore :)

And another, I quite like (enjoy) your "old man shouting at the sky" style, being of the same demographic.

And perhaps I make it nine. And I'm thinking that maybe 'lacuna' is some kind of omelette you had on your trip. Neil Keating.

Ray,
I shout at a lot of things, but never the sky. I spend a lot of time looking at the sky and don't recall ever seeing one I didn't like.
Neil,
Thank you (and Mark too). I've amended my readership figures accordingly. Incidentally, if there's such a thing as a lacuna omelette, I doubt that it would be very filling.

Hi Karl,
Make that ten of us !!
I did notice your silence, and it's good to see you back. Your comments are always thoughtful, balanced and well backed by history and fact.
Cheers - Doug

More than seven, there must be at least twelve. No, make a baker's dozen! Frank Muir once described one of his publications as "being read by at least a dozen people". Welcome back.

Welcome back. I assumed you were away from the lacuna . A lovely word that I first learnt from Geoffrey Palmer, at a different press conference from his more famous pluvial one!

Please count me in too!

Love your articles and opinions. So good that someone is still brave enough to speak up about issues even if it goes against what others may think and say. Seems like there are some who find it hard to accept the truth of our young country's beginnings
