Sue Bradford was on Radio NZ's Morning Report today lamenting the fact
that New Zealand had no left-wing think tanks. Has she forgotten the
universities?
It suits her purposes to make this claim. But what about....the Morgan Foundation. And on some subjects, Motu and Maxim. Then there's the NZ Christian Council for Social Services and the National Council of Women of NZ. The NZ branches of international institutions like UNICEF and Save the Children. Not to mention the Child Poverty Action Group, an utterly left-wing think-tank producing research papers, submissions to select committees etc. Oh, and I nearly forgot, the most active left-wing think tank of all, the Salvation Army's social policy research unit.
