Spectator Australia's plea to Ardern

Spectator Australia’s Flat White website has a scorching piece on New Zealand’s precipitous decline under Ardern and Labour. It’s the most powerful commentary I’ve read on this government’s devastating combination of incompetence and malignancy. A shame the writer is not identified.

Yes Karl, the best thing I have read in a long time and right on target. It needs to be widely disseminated.

The writer is none other than Flat White's editor, Alexandra Marshall.

Opposing government policies could now see you branded a "terrorist". Please view this powerful clip by Sean Plunket: https://youtu.be/d8wG49Xd024

Wow, that certainly makes for a great essay on the exam question, "Why New Zealand cease to exist as it was once known?"

Excellent article.
The enemy within, Comrade Ardern (The Minister for Child Poviddy) must go.
She and her entourage are rapidly destroying our once free and proud nation.

Karl we are staying at Surfers, since Monday, and every day I see scathing comments on Ardern on TV. Different channels too she is despised in Australia from what I have seen.

Premeditated rape of democracy in our wonderful country. She is not a Kiwi, that's for certain.

Anonymous has noted his take on OZ media’s treatment of Ardern.

I am a semi regular watcher of Sky News Australia. Their presenters (Kenny, Credlin, Bolt, et al) pick up occasionally on NZ items. They are usually as scathing of NZ Labour as they are of OZ Labour. Sadly the anti-left/pro-right themes are repeated ad nauseam and it quickly becomes tiresome. As tiresome as the absence of any balanced analysis in our NZ mainstream media.

Thanks to Karl for highlighting the Spectator article.

Have you ever thought that there exist many "Jacinda's" in all our Western democracies? She is just, as it happens, the most virulent, the most destructive ruler of them all. Isn't it all a matter of degree? Her take on racism, on Covid, on climate change, on free speech, on capitalism and the market, etc., is so similar to that of many other rulers - only to a much more vicious degree.

Am I right in suggesting that what we are seeing in all the Western democracies is "Trumpism" : that vague, widespread sentiment among the Great Unwashed that our freedoms are at risk, that we are suffering too much from being exposed to an unreasonable amount of rules, regulations and decrees from our leftist governments and from public institutions?

I for one am very excited about the mid-term elections in the US on Monday. There is good chance that the Republicans will dominate also the Senate. This will be of crucial importance for the rest of us - including Europe.

I'm with you Andy. I hope the Republicans triumph. It will send a positive signal for freedom around the world.

Thank you for backing me up, Trev1. There's an interesting article in today's Spectator Australia's Flat White by Jordan Knight : "The Right will slay this Woke dystopia" (Conservatives the world over taking back power and restoring sanity) - which neatly illustrates what I was saying.

In a few short hours we will learn the results of the mid-term elections - how exciting!

Andy, and Trev1, you should be careful of what you wish for. Try this New York Times piece written by Maureen Dowd – a long time columnist on the NYT. Very quirky, but she labels all of the Republican nut cases, weirdos and crazies waiting in the wings.

Eamon Sloan - I have just read the piece you are referring to. But this is all just raving ad hominem attacks om Trump and some of his followers. Nowhere, but nowhere, does she actually counteract any of his policies - let alone get on to my main point about all this that there is a groundswell of a worldwide swing to conservative governments.

Our own elections next year will be coloured by this very same movement to no small degree, I believe.

An excellent article Karl..
You have outlined in detail (using very relevant examples) just how far the Labour machine is down the track of completely dominating all public discussion or debate on any topic that criticises or disagrees with their Thought Police.

By chance, I was familiar with Lauren Southern before her visit to NZ. I had seen a number of her You tube doco's before she and Stephan arrived here.
I never heard her make any racist comments. She was a staunch defender of Western Family, "Christian" style values. She was justifiably critical of radical Islam terrorism, and critical of poor immigration control in the USA.
She made an excellent doco called Farmlands" which portrayed the plight of white farmers in South Africa who are being (racially)murdered and having their farms seized by the "progressive" black South African government. However, I repeat, I did not ever hear her make any actual racist remark or comment.

Regarding Hate Speech laws - it is ludicrous to define hate speech as "insulting". This word is totally subjective. I might feel deeply "insulted" at being called a pale, stale, male. But does that mean that I can call the Thought Police to prosecute the issuer of this phrase, because my feelings might be hurt, and OMG I just feel, personally deeply inside me, so so INSULTED.
I mean - get a grip !!!
