🎄To all those who have followed this blog in 2022, even when they didn't necessarily agree with it, and to those who took the trouble to contribute erudite and insightful comments, my sincere thanks and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. See you in 2023. 🎄
Merry Christmas to you and yours and thanks mightly for your courage.
Merry Christmas to those who have contributed to this blog in the spirit intended. To those of you who tried to make this world a worse place for others, bugger off.
Thanks Gary, but no one should be considered courageous for simply doing what should be normal in a free and open society - i.e. expressing lawful and honestly held opinions.
Compliments of the Season to you Karl. Thanks for all of your insights over the last fascinating year
You may be right about "expressing lawful and honestly held opinions" Karl but some can do this a hellovalot better on the the important subjects of the day than others and we read your excellent blog for this very reason. Thank you for the effort you continue to put into the debates of the day. Have a great family Christmas and New Year.
Best regards, Jack Tuohy

Can't claim to be in this group but I thank you for giving me a chance to whinge and moan and for the insights you share.
Merry and Happy to you. Looking forward to more posts in 2023.
I have great respect for your love of debate. Thank you Karl.
Cheers, Karl. You, too.
Thanks for the columns.

Thanks to you and the others with the courage to swim against the tide. The country will look back on you people with gratitude, once we have restored our great country back to where it was just a couple of long years ago. Well done.
I read all your posts, but comment rarely. Thanks for writing Karl. Look forward to reading in the New Year.
Cheers for the year of good reads, Karl. And when you piss people off, you really know you've written something more than a little worthwhile.
Karl - many thanks for your year. We all need more of it. The nation would be a better place.
Have a great Christmas and I look forward to your input in election year. Regards BD
Hello Karl, you always need to remember that the world has changed and being an editor or journalist today is much different to your day. You were my News Editor and exceptional, as were all the chief reporters of the day. There wasn’t the pressure of the internet. Whether you agree or disagree with a direction or opinion, if it makes you think, react or discuss it is good. I currently work as a print producer for Stuff, primarily on The Dominion Post. Today we have farewelled Anna Fifield. She is not your cup of tea so to speak. That is fine. However I would suggest her news sense, commitment, clarity of thinking and skills were at the highest level of journalism whatever the era. When you work with an editor you always want to feel they are in control of the news agenda. Fifield knew her stuff and worked hard. We may or may not agree with her vision but at least she had a view, tried to make an imprint. She held her staff to high standards. For that she deserves respect, as you had my respect. All the best. Have a great Christmas. Grant Harding
May you have a joyful Christmas Karl. Your commentaries are a beacon of reason in an increasing dark world. Next year is likely to be even more challenging. Please keep writing.
Thank you for your contribution to the public square. All the best to you and your family this Christmas.
All the Best to you and your family for the Christmas/New Year break Karl.
Thank you for your excellent articles over the year. Your journalism is one of the gold standards, and we appreciate your insightful comments.
And the very same to you too Karl. I do hope that you continue to post. Looking forward to next year, all the very best, PC.
All the best to you and yours Karl.
Hope to see you come out firing next year.
Merry Christmas Karl and everyone else. And a Happy New Year.
One of the wise men Karl. Stay on form for next year, which is going to be a make or break. So glad you're there.
It's all very well to thank the erudite and insightful but what about contributors like me? - Bill Moore
You're always welcome too Bill.
