Winston Peters as a hooker in fishnet stockings

Is this the political cartoon of 2023? I think it will take some beating. The Herald's Rod Emmerson produced it to illustrate an article by former Labour MP Graham Kelly (paywalled) on the pitfalls of MMP.

  3. Good to see a lawyer with an honest job.

    He will save New Zealand.

  4. A great many people claim that Bill English refused to "negotiate" with Winston Peters but if that were the case why did the "negotiations" take so long if it was a one horse race, horse being apt for both parties.

I see it more as Bill English refusing to be extorted whereas ardern would pay any price for a chance to ruin our country which she has in fact now done.

Never forgive and never forget what that man enabled.

    1. There is a certain comfort of using the past as a mirror of the future but rarely is it a true reflection.
People move on, learn, and change.
No matter who we vote for, we will be hostage to them.

  5. Alex, we are only a hostage if we allow it.

More of us need to engage with a political party that best suits our leanings and ensure that they retain the basic honesty that they profess at election time. They only stray because we don't hold their feet to the fire.

  6. If you swap the "Peters" for any National, Labour, NZF (other than Peters) or Maori pollie wouldn't the cartoon still hold?

Only the grossly dishonest communists now not even pretending to be green and, maybe, ACT are slightly different.
