A golden opportunity missed

So Tova O’Brien sat down with Jami-Lee Ross for a Newshub Nation interview that has reportedly “gone viral”. This was a golden opportunity missed: the two most unpleasant people in New Zealand politics confined together in a Newshub studio. Couldn’t someone have quietly locked the door and tip-toed away?

They do indeed deserve each other. A happy union of egomaniacs.

The irony is that Ross is reportedly the source of most of National's "leaks" to Tova in the period before his departure from the Nats.

I presumed he granted her that interview because he thought she was on his side!

Gosh, that's a kindly thought, I'd tend to wish a more permanent confinement, eg. door locked, key lost.

Where has this Tova woman sprung from? She is a nasty piece of work who instantly seems to have been given some sort of celebrity status amongst some in the media. I detest the direction so-called mainstream media has gone and this vicious woman is indicative of where they are at. She'd fit right in at CNN. As for Ross, what a drip.

Wouldn’t being placed together in a sewn sack that was then thrown into the Tiber be more like it? 😳😂

Media outlets quite like to develop the 'cult of personality' among their news and current affairs presenters, and being controversial is seen as a plus, although basic manners and non-aggressiveness should be insisted on. The Left Wing love Tova, but the biggest thing here is the abandonment of any pretense of impartiality by Newshub, over the last 3 years at least. Newshub should just rename itself 'Labour Party News'
